STORRS — One of the University of Connecticut’s most popular summer attractions will be a bit harder to get to for the next few months.
A construction project on the UConn campus is shutting down the main access road to the UConn Dairy Bar.
The project involves replacing the aging steam and water distribution lines that serve several UConn academic and residential buildings on the eastern side of campus.
The school is setting up detours and signs to get people around the Route 195 and Horsebarn Hill Extension and to the popular ice cream parlor.
More than 200,000 visitors stop at the Dairy Bar each year for the ice cream, cheese, eggs and other products from UConn’s farm animals and to watch the ice cream being made.
