HARTFORD – United Technologies Corp. is moving from Hartford’s Gold Building downtown to Farmington.
The company plans to move its headquarters about 10 miles by the end of this year, the company said Thursday afternoon.
The headquarters will move onto the Otis Elevator campus that’s already owned by UTC in Farmington.
Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra released the following statement on the move:
“We understand that it was a cost savings decision that had been planned for some time. UTC is a tenant in the Gold Building and currently occupies only three floors. While we’re disappointed to see any business go, the number of businesses coming into Hartford far outweigh the number of businesses leaving. I’m confident that space will be occupied soon.”
