Memorial Day, the national holiday for remembering servicemen and women who paid the ultimate price, is observed every year on the last Monday of May, which means it will be celebrated on Monday, May 30. There were many events scheduled across the state in observance of Memorial Day, but unfortunately, weather has cancelled quite a few of them. The weather forecast has put a damper on some but not all of the events, so check back often.

Avon‘s parade is canceled. There will still be a small ceremony at the Avon Senior Center on West Avon Road at 10 a.m.
The Bethany Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The Ceremonial Service will be held in the Town Hall gym at 10 a.m.
The Berlin Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled due to inclement weather, but ceremonies will be held indoors at the American Legion at 9 a.m.
The Bristol parades are cancelled, there is no rain date.
The Town of Clinton‘s Memorial Day parade has been cancelled due to impending bad weather.

The East Hampton Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday and is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to end at 10:30 a.m. The parade will start on North Maple Street.
East Hartford‘s Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled due to the weather.
The Town of East Haven will move its Memorial Day services inside due to inclement weather. The ceremonies will take place at the East Haven Senior Center at 91 Taylor Avenue. Participants are asked to arrive by 11:15 a.m.
The East Lyme parade is cancelled.
The Farmington and Unionville Memorial Day parades are cancelled for today.
The Glastonbury Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled for today.
Granby’s annual parade is cancelled.
Memorial Day Dock Service at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich at 8 a.m.
American Legion Post #115 in the Town of Groton has called off their Noank Memorial Day Parade and Picnic.
Guilford‘s Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies have been cancelled due to the weather.

The Town of Hamden has canceled their parade for Monday. A ceremony honoring Veterans will still be held inside the Hamden Middle School on 2623 Dixwell Avenue. The ceremony will start at 11 a.m.

Due to the rainy forecast, Madison‘s Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled. There will be a ceremony at the American Legion Hall, 43 Bradley Road at 10:30 a.m..
The City of Manchester’s parade has been cancelled for Monday. The Center Park program will still be held at the Full Gospel Interdenominational Church (745 Main Street) at 11 a.m.
The Meriden American Legion’s Memorial Day parade has been cancelled, however other indoor-based Monday events will go on as planned. These include the USO show and free pasta dinner for veterans and their families.
The Naugatuck 2016 Memorial Day Parade is still scheduled to begin on time at 9:15 a.m. The parade will begin on North Main Street in the Union City section of the Borough and proceed to Calvin Street, to High St., to Oak St, to Maple St, to Old Firehouse Rd, a short distance on Rubber Ave, to Church Street and end in front of Town Hall.
The City of New Britain’s Memorial Day services have been postponed to Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Central Park due to inclement weather. Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday starting at 6 p.m. Broad and Main streets. More details and map here.

Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Day Parade (starts on Sound Beach Avenue at Shore Acre Drive), followed by Binney Park Services in Old Greenwich at 10 a.m.
The Dockside Ceremony at Saybrook Point in Old Saybrook and the Memorial Day Parade have been cancelled. A Formal Memorial Day Program, to honor our fallen, will be held at 10 a.m. at the Old Saybrook Fire Department on Main Street.

Shelton/Derby Memorial Day Parade begins at 9 a.m on Monday on Howe Ave. in Shelton by the exit 14 ramp.
Simsbury canceled the morning parade. There will still be an afternoon parade scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
The South Windsor Memorial Day Parade will be held Monday from the staging area on South Satellite Road to Nutmeg Road South to Pleasant Valley Road. The parade will then proceed into Veterans Memorial Park for a memorial ceremony. The one-mile parade route will be closed to traffic beginning at 9:45 a.m. and will reopen at noon.
Southington called off their annual parade and memorial services, which were set to begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday and continue throughout the day.
Vernon‘s Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies have been cancelled.
The Wallingford Memorial Day Parade scheduled for tomorrow morning has been cancelled. There will be a service held at 10 a.m. at Mark T. Sheehan High School on 142 Hope Hill Road.
The West Hartford Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
West Haven has postponed their Memorial Day parade due to the rain. The parade will be held Sunday, June 5, at 1 p.m.
Due to the weather, the Wolcott Memorial Day parade has been cancelled.
