NORWICH, Conn. — Story by Ceidy Desormeau
In August, Haiti was hit by another earthquake. Haiti has not yet recovered from the last earthquake in 2010.
The earthquake left businesses, schools, and homes of the Haitian people destroyed. When Norwich Free Academy students found out that their piers didn’t have the tools necessary to attend school, they took action.
The Haitian Support group and the Diocese of Norwich teamed up to make sure students in Haiti had the supplies they needed to learn with. NFA’s Haitian Support group was successful, delivering over 50 backpacks to the students of Haiti that are in need. NFA students are always ready to help, and Leo Butler agrees, “NFA has a tradition of giving and caring and this is just another example.”
