EAST HAMPTON, Conn. — Story by Macie Brazal, Amarylla Ingala, Leah Kohler, and Lily Cronin, East Hampton High School
On December 7th, over sixty East Hampton High School students and staff gathered in the cafeteria to wrap hundreds of gifts for children from The ABC Women’s Center.
Each homeroom sponsors one of the fifty children and gets them gifts to ensure their holiday is a little brighter this year. From baby clothes, to Legos, to video game gift cards, these children’s ages range from one to fifteen years old.
The wrapping event is important to the East Hampton community, as it has been a tradition for almost thirty years. Students and staff gather to wrap presents, listen to holiday music, and enjoy delicious treats. This tradition is an event that many look forward to, as the community can give back to community members and can spend time with others.
The FOX 61 Student News program empowers Connecticut middle and high school students to explore the world of multi-media journalism by giving them the opportunity to capture, edit and publish original content under the guidance of industry professionals.
Each student produced and hosted segment will showcase a local story or event, highlighting all that is great about our state. Segments will be featured on-air during Friday's Morning News at 7:45 a.m., 5:45 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. news and during the FOX61 Morning News on Saturday at 7 a.m., and right here on FOX61.com!
