KILLINGLY, Conn. — Story by Sydney Crabtree and Laura Farquhar Killingly High School
Girls and boys basketball teams all around the state of Connecticut are adjusting to a change in the rules as the shot clock is being introduced for the 2023-24 season.
The 35 second shot clock was implemented to increase the pace of games, limit the amount of time wasted towards the end of close games, and prepare players that strive to compete at the next level.
The Killingly basketball teams are looking forward to the shot clock, although it is possible that it will determine the outcome of several games.
Despite the new rule, teams are still ready for the season to begin in December.
