West Hartford police investigating shooting that injured 1

Police were at the scene for several hours.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Police are investigating a shooting that took place early Wednesday that left one person injured. 

Fern Street between Mountain Road and North Main Street was closed for several hours

FOX61's Lissette Nunez says a car was seen on the scene, taped off, and looked like it had sustained heavy damage.

 Police said at 1:18am, officers were called to a report of a shooting in the area of north main st. And fern st.  One victim was located with minor non-life threatening injuries and taken by ambulance to the hospital and then released to the custody of west hartford police for questioning.

"This is an ongoing investigation, there is no risk to the public, and there are no further details to release at this time," said police.
