HARTFORD, Conn — Gov. Ned Lamont announced the details of the funeral services honoring former Gov. M. Jodi Rell.
Rell died last Thursday following a brief illness, according to her family. She served as governor from 2004 to 2011. She became governor following the resignation of John Rowland. In 2006, she was elected in her own right.
According to Lamont's office, the services will be Tuesday, Dec. 3.
- 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Governor Rell will lay in state at the Connecticut State Capitol (210 Capitol Avenue, Hartford). The public is invited to pay tribute during this time.
- 2:30 p.m. – A mass of Christian burial will be held at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph (140 Farmington Avenue, Hartford).
A private interment ceremony will occur at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown on a date yet to be determined. She will be buried alongside her husband Lou Rell, a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
