Multiple people taken to hospital after crash on Rt. 202 in Washington

The road was shut down near the intersection with Route 47

WASHINGTON, Connecticut — Just after 7:00 last night, Connecticut State Police Troop L responded to a two vehicle crash on Route 202 in Washington.

 A Jeep Wrangler, operated by Susan Leigh and carrying three others, was traveling east on Rt. 202 / New Milford Turnpike when it was struck from the rear by a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Andrea Wadeson.

The collision caused the Wrangler to travel off the right side of the roadway and roll before striking a tree.

The Malibu also traveled off the roadway and striking a tree before stopping in the woodline.

Life Star helicopter was requested to the scene, but could not fly due to the weather.

Both rear seat passengers, Ronald and Kathleen Peck, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Danbury Hospital.

The other three persons involved in the incident were also transported to Danbury Hospital with minor injuries.

The roadway was closed until early Sunday morning as the crash is an ongoing investigation.

The roadway has since reopened.
