Noted defense attorney Jim Bergenn
comments on the Connecticut Supreme Court's decision last month to dismiss murder charges against Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel, who has already served 10 years in prison for 1975 murder of his Greenwich neighbor, Martha Moxley, when they were both 15. The justices decided, in a 4-3 vote, that Skakel's trial lawyer, Mickey Sherman, blew his defense by not calling an alibi witness who would have testified that Skakel was with him, watching TV at a relative's home in another part of town, at the time of the slaying. State prosecutors are planning an appeal to the US Supreme Court.
