ELLINGTON, Conn. — A car fire after a crash in Ellington on Monday night turned fatal when one of the passengers died from injuries.
Connecticut State Police were called to Sandy Beach Road just before 10 p.m.
A Kia Sorento was traveling fast on the westbound side of Sandy Beach Road when the car went off the road and hit a tree. The driver and one passenger got out before the car burst into flames, state police said. The two, ages 20 and 19, were taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
Another passenger, who has not been identified, died from injuries.
This is a developing story.
