STORRS, Conn. — Crews are on the scene of a fire at the Whitney House on the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs, officials said.
The house is a historical home dating back to the 1760s and is situated on Mirror Lake. The school said it is its oldest structure.
UConn said the building was not in use at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Officials said UConn Public Safety was notified around 6 a.m. of the fire, which, at that point, had almost fully engulfed the building.

Crews reported the blaze under control around 7 a.m. but continued to find and knock down hot spots within the walls and other parts of the building.
UConn officials said crews would be on the scene for much of the day, and Route 195 will be closed along with the eastern side of UConn Storrs. Drivers are asked to find other routes or follow detours on-site.
UConn officials said this is a sad day for the campus.
"It's the oldest structure on campus so there is historical value to it. But the good news is it's an unoccupied house; nobody living here, no offices. There there is no worry about that," said Michael Enright, a UConn spokesperson.
The university's class and work schedules are not affected, officials said.
