VERNON, Conn. — Connecticut State Police report that a Willimantic man was arrested Thursday morning on the strength of two separate felony arrest warrants.
Kwitzpatrick Duffany, 37, was taken into custody at Rockville Superior Court around 9:35 a.m. State police say he is responsible for a burglary that occurred in Mansfield and an attempted robbery that happened in Ashford.
According to state police, Troop C personnel investigated a commercial burglary at a jewelry business in Mansfield on May 25, 2023. State police say the investigation provided a positive DNA hit for Duffany on items left at the scene.
Duffany was processed and charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal trespass. He was issued a $75,000 court bond.
State police said Troop C personnel also investigated a report of a suspicious person at a convenience store in Ashford on May 31, 2023. The investigation resulted in the discovery of a stolen gun and a conspiracy to commit robbery at the business.
Duffany was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, stealing a firearm, five counts of third-degree identity theft, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, carrying a firearm under the influence of alcohol/drugs, weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, and first-degree attempted robbery, according to state police.
A $175,000 court-set bond was issued to Duffany, and he was then turned over to the custody of the Judicial Marshalls for same-day arraignment, state police say.
