State police investigating deadly Hebron crash after car collides with mailbox, tree

For an unknown reason, the woman went into the opposite travel lane going south and went off the roadway, according to state police.

HEBRON, Conn. — A woman was killed in a Hebron crash early Sunday after her car went off-road, Connecticut State Police said.

The crash was reported to have taken place around 2:10 a.m. in the area of Gilead Street and East Street, according to state police.

Troopers determined through a preliminary investigation that 23-year-old Sydney Ledoux of Bolton was driving a Ford Escape SE northbound on Route 85, just north of East Street.

For an unknown reason, Ledoux went into the opposite travel lane going south and went off the roadway. She died of her injuries after the Escape collided with a mailbox and then crashed into a tree, state police said.

The events leading up to the incident are currently unknown. FOX61 has reached out to the fire department for any additional information.
