WILLINGTON, Conn. — A Connecticut man was charged in connection to the murder of a 21-month-old girl that happened in March in Wilmington, Delaware.
On Nov. 2, Timothy Olschafskie, 30, was arrested and charged with murder by abuse or neglect under an arrest warrant out in Wilmington. He was apprehended at the Enfield, Conn., Burger King where he was an employee, said Enfield police.
According to Wilmington police, on March 11 at around 9:29 a.m., officers responded to the area of Town Estates Drive in Wilmington in regards to a "child suffering from a medical emergency." The 21-month-old was taken to the hospital where she later died.
A death investigation conducted by the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences determined that the victim’s cause of death was homicide.
Police obtained the arrest warrants for Olschafskie in connection to the murder on Nov. 2, before arresting him that same day in Enfield. He was held on a $1 million bond. He was arraigned in Hartford on Nov. 3 before being extradited to Delaware on Tuesday.
