BROOKLYN, Connecticut — A family is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects involved in a gravestone theft in Brooklyn, Conn. in June, according to the Brooklyn Resident Trooper.
The theft happened at the South Cemetery on June 27, and the gravestone remains unaccounted for, state police said.
The twilight red-colored gravestone read "Benard" in big letters at the top and included the names of both Gloria and Michael, according to state police.
On Nov. 19, the Benard family placed a new gravestone at the gravesite, courtesy of an anonymous donor who heard about the removal of their mother's gravestone, state police said.
Anyone with information can call the Brooklyn Resident Trooper's Office at 860-234-1051 or email kyle.ambrose@ct.gov.
