PLAINFIELD, Conn. — A man was arrested Saturday after threatening a cashier at a Walgreens store and taking money from the cash register, Plainfield police said.
Officers responded around 8:50 p.m. to the Walgreens on Prospect Street in the Moosup section of town after receiving a report of a man in his 50's who walked into the store and threatened an 18-year-old cashier to give him money from the cash register. Police said the suspect was described wearing a dark blue hat with red lettering.
Officers investigating the incident reviewed the store's surveillance camera footage and spotted the man walking out with cash.
Sometime later, officers at a separate, unrelated incident near Green Hollow Road found a man who matched the robbery suspect's description, police said.
The man, identified as 61-year-old Richard Foux, was arrested after police found him sitting in the bar at the Music Lady Cafe.
Foux was charged with robbery in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, threatening in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree. He is currently being held on a $100,000 bond and is expected to appear at Danielson Superior Court on Monday.
