PUTNAM, Conn. — One person is recovering after being attacked and robbed by two people with machetes, according to Putnam police.
Police were called to the area of Smith and Daniels Streets at 9:47 p.m. Friday for a report of someone attacked by two people with machetes.
The victim told responding officers on the scene that two males hit his ankles with machetes and then stole various items from them and ran off, according to police.
The injuries from the attack are serious but not life-threatening, police said.
A K-9 team from the Norwich Police Dept. also responded to try to track down the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this attack or who has video surveillance footage that could be related to this case is asked to call Putnam police at 860-928-6565.
