WILLIMANTIC, Conn. — A multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 66 and Route 32 in Willimantic closed roads in town Monday afternoon, the police department said.
The intersection where the crash took place was reopened Tuesday morning, according to police.
According to police, officers went to the area at 2:45 p.m. after receiving a report about the collision.
Police found a large commercial paving truck that had turned on its side from the crash. Based on preliminary information, they determined that it had been headed east on Route 66 when it collided with multiple vehicles headed in the same direction.
There is currently no word on any injuries. A Willimantic Fire and Rescue crew, along with mutual aid from the Mansfield and University of Connecticut fire departments, responded to evaluate if anyone was injured.
The Willimantic Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation with assistance from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles Inspector, police said.
