HARTFORD, Conn. — Two Powerball tickets sold in Connecticut won big prizes after Wednesday's drawing. Two players were lucky to win a $2 million and a $100,000 prize.
The numbers to match are 1, 4, 13, 35, 58 and the Powerball 24.
One ticket matched all five numbers and played with the Power Play, winning the $2 million. The Power Play for this drawing doubles the prizes, but anyone who matches five numbers earns either $1 million or $2 million regardless of how the Power Play multiplies.
If the $2 million winner had also matched the Powerball, that lucky player would have instead garnered the $49 million jackpot.
Another ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball, and played with Power Play, winning $100,000. Without Powerplay, that prize would have been $50,000.
A total of 5,144 winning tickets sold in Connecticut were drawn for Wednesday's Powerball drawing.
No one in the nation won the jackpot, Connecticut holds the only $2 million winner, and a ticket in California won $1 million.
The next drawing is on Saturday, Oct. 21 and the jackpot rises to $70 million.
