HARTFORD, Conn. — A Powerball player with a ticket sold in Connecticut will have extra holiday cheer after a big win in Wednesday's drawing.
The numbers to match for this game are 27-35-41-56-60 and the Powerball 16.
One ticket sold in Connecticut matched four numbers and the Powerball, winning $50,000. Had they opted for Power Play, the prize would have doubled to $100,000.
Eight tickets matched just four numbers but not the Powerball, winning between $100-$200.
A total of 11,109 winning Powerball tickets were sold in Connecticut for Wednesday's drawing.
No one in the nation won the $576 million jackpot. Players in Colorado, Kentucky, and Virginia won $2 million and players in Kentucky and Rhode Island won $1 million.
The next drawing is Saturday, Dec. 23, with the jackpot rising to around $620 million.
