HARTFORD, Conn. — No one in Connecticut won the billion-dollar jackpot up for grabs in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, but one ticket still won a decent prize.
The numbers to match are 22, 24, 40, 52, 64 and Powerball 10.
One Powerball ticket sold in Connecticut won $50,000 for matching four numbers and the Powerball. They did not play with Powerplay, otherwise the prize would have doubled to $100,000.
There were 53 tickets sold in Connecticut that matched just four numbers, earning between $100-$200.
Over 43,000 tickets only matched the Powerball, earning between $4-$8.
A total of 66,358 winning tickets were sold in the state for Wednesday's drawing, compared to 33,790 who won something during the Monday, Oct. 2 drawing.
A ticket sold in California won the historic $1.76 billion jackpot prize. Tickets in Arizona and Pennsylvania won $2 million for matching five numbers and playing with PowerPlay. Two tickets in California, two tickets in Florida, and tickets in New York, Oklahoma, and Virginia each won $1 million for matching five numbers.
The $1.76 billion is the second-largest Powerball jackpot and U.S. lottery jackpot ever won, according to Powerball.
The next drawing is Saturday, Oct. 14, and the jackpot resets to $20 million.
