HARTFORD, Conn. — While the $1.1 billion Mega Millions jackpot was won by someone who bought a ticket in New Jersey, two people who bought tickets in Connecticut still won big.
The numbers to match are 7-11-22-29-38 and the Mega Ball 4, along with the X2 Megaplier to duplicate winnings.
Two Mega Millions tickets sold in Connecticut matched four numbers, and the Mega Ball and played with Megaplier, each winning $20,000.
There were 46 winning tickets that matched just four numbers and not the Mega Ball, winning between $500-$1,000.
A total of 42,472 winning Mega Millions tickets were sold in Connecticut for Tuesday's drawing.
The jackpot prize, which matches all five numbers and the Mega Ball, is valued at $1.13 billion. A ticket in New Jersey got the jackpot.
A dozen people nationwide won $1 million for matching all five numbers but not the Mega Ball. One ticket in New York matched five numbers and played with Megaplier, winning $2 million.
The next drawing is on Friday, March 29, and the jackpot resets to $20 million.
