HARTFORD, Conn. — A Mega Millions ticket sold in Connecticut won $30,000 in Friday night's drawing, according to CT Lottery.
The numbers to match are 5, 23, 26, 38, 44 and Mega Ball 25.
The $30,000 winning ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball. Since they played with Megaplier, the typical prize of $10,000 tripled.
Two tickets matched four numbers but not the Mega Ball, each winning $500.
Nearly 4,900 tickets sold in Connecticut matched just the Mega Ball, winning between $2-$6.
A total of 7,624 winning Mega Millions tickets were sold in Connecticut for Friday's drawing.
No one in the nation won the $140 million jackpot, but a ticket sold in California matched five numbers, winning $1 million.
The next drawing is on Tuesday, Jan. 9, with the jackpot rising to $165 million. The cash option is $79.9 million.
