SAN FRANCISCO — Black Friday is coming up fast and some discounts have already been seen, but who has the best deals this year?
Personal-finance website WalletHub compiled their annual list of the best places to shop based on the average discount consumers can get.
The report reviewed more than 4,300 deals in Black Friday ads from 13 of the biggest U.S. retailers. While the largest discount they found was 88%, it found JCPenney was the best place to shop on Black Friday because it is offering an average discount of 76.20%. That's nearly a 20% increase in sales from last year.
Macy's, Belk, Kohl's and Walmart rounded out the top five on WalletHub's best places to shop on Black Friday list. Walmart took Targets spot this year.
At the bottom of the list was Costco, which Wallet Hub found was offering just a 18.27% discount.
It's the sixth time that JCPenney has topped the list since 2014.

Walmart Black Friday deals 2024
Walmart, the nation's largest retailer, will also have a semi-traditional Black Friday sale. Deals started Monday, Nov. 25 and will continue through Dec. 1 online and in-store.

Target Black Friday deals 2024
Target has an ongoing "Holiday Price Match Guarantee" through Dec. 24 and had an early Black Friday special earlier this month. Their Black Friday deal run from Sunday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Nov. 30.

Best Buy Black Friday deals 2024
The Best Buy Black Friday sale includes what the retailer is promising as "doorbuster" deals on items including: TVs, headphones, laptops, electric scooters, skincare devices and small appliances. It ends Saturday Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m.
