CONNECTICUT, USA — With a new election in Connecticut comes the ability to vote early.
Early voting is new for the state after voters in 2022 approved a state constitutional amendment that gave the General Assembly the go-ahead to create a new, in-person voting system.
The State House and Senate, along with Gov. Ned Lamont, eventually passed the legislation to allow for early voting up to 14 days.
Here's how it'll work.

March 26 - March 28, March 30 - Early voting begins for the upcoming presidential primary. The schedule of dates was adjusted due to Good Friday and Easter.
April 1, noon— Deadline for registering in person with the voter registrar or town clerk to vote the next day. It's also the deadline for unaffiliated voters to enroll in a party for in-person voting.
April 2 - Presidential primary.
What to expect
When you arrive at the Early Voting location, you will check in and be verified as an eligible voter.
You'll then get your ballot with an envelope. The ballot will be completed in a privacy booth and sealed in the approved envelope.
Before you leave, place the sealed envelope in the secure receptacle as election officials instructed. The ballots will remain unopened until Election Day when they'll be opened and counted.
Where is my Early Voting location?
Each town or city will have at least one Early Voting location. The local legislative body will decide whether to have additional locations if your town or city's population is 20,000 or more.
You can check your town or city's website for its Early Voting location.
Election Security
How will the Secretary of the State's office ensure people don't vote twice? They say that the election official at the early voting location will record that you have cast your ballot, which will prevent you from voting early at any other location, submitting an absentee ballot, or voting on Election Day.
