STAMFORD -- Two of the three suspects in the case of the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Dulos were able to post bond Thursday. However, one of the accused departed Stamford Superior Court the courthouse in an unexpected way.

Michelle Troconis’ mother and sister entered Stamford Superior Court fully expecting to be escorting Michelle out after she posted bond. Instead, Troconis was escorted by police into Stamford Hospital, walking under her own power, with an undisclosed illness.

Her attorney, Andrew Bowman, addressed nothing as he walked out court, but an attorney representing Fotis Dulos did.

As promised, a couple of moments later, Dulos emerged from the courthouse, saying nothing, before getting into an SUV and heading back to Farmington.

“He is relieved, as you might expect,” Smith said. “And, we are looking forward to the process of now defending this case going forward in court.”

And, he reminded the assembled media that, with a gag order in place, he would not be addressing the alleged evidence anymore.

Then, Smith was asked why Fotis Dulos had an ax in his garage.

“The man lives in a rural area,” Smith responded. “I’ve got one in my garage, as well.”Police confiscated the ax when they arrested him at his home on Tuesday.

In order to post his $6 million bond, Dulos was forced to come up with just over $420,000. And, for her $1.5 million bond, Troconis was responsible for $105,000.

Kent Mawhinney, the third defendant in this case, was unable to post his $2 million bond Thursday. He is charged, like Troconis, with conspiracy to commit murder.

Some people are wondering how bonds work and what actually needs to be paid for release. FOX61's Tony Terzi reports those numbers, according to officials.

Dulos needed $420,150 to post his $6 million bond.

While, Troconis needed to come up with $105,150 to post her bond set at $1.5 million.
