NORWICH — A Connecticut high school administrator says in a lawsuit she was suspended and demoted for reporting a coach’s improper relationship with a student.
The Norwich Bulletin reports that Denise Grant filed suit Tuesday against Norwich Free Academy.
Grant says she reported a rumor about sexual abuse by a coach to the head of campus security in 2017 and didn’t report it elsewhere.
The school did report the allegations in 2018 after a rumor about another student surfaced.
Coach Anthony Facchini was arrested on allegations he had sexual relations with two students. He’s pleaded not guilty.
Grant says the campus security chief lied to police about her report and that the head of school accused her of lying during an internal investigation.
The school says it’ll will defend against the lawsuit.
