HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford Yard Goats have been named Minor League Baseball's Organization of the Year, another timely milestone for the baseball club that debuted in the playoffs this season.
The MiLB honored the Yard Goats at its Business Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday. The Double-A team was selected among the 120 minor-league teams across the country and Canada. Peers from each league - Triple-A, Double-A, High-A and Single-A - selected the nominees.
“We are absolutely honored to receive this prestigious award from Minor League Baseball,” Yard Goats President Tim Restall said. “This speaks volumes about our loyal fans, partners and employees. Our goal has always been to be more than just a baseball team, and have a positive impact in the Hartford community.”
Since 2017, the Yard Goats have brought in hundreds of thousands of fans to Dunkin' Park. The baseball club broke a franchise record of welcoming 417,054 fans in 2024, including for playoffs.
The MiLB recognized the Yard Goats for its family-friendly atmosphere at the games with themed event nights, firework displays, and giveaways, as well as the team's commitment to providing community programs in the area.
The Yard Goats have multiple alter-egos and have played games as the Bouncing Pickles, Steamed Cheeseburgers, Hartford Schoolboys, and Los Chivos de Hartford.
The Hartford Yard Goats are a minor-league affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
The 2025 season opens Friday, April 4 at home against the Somerset Patriots.
