HARTFORD, Conn. — Connecticut viewers unfortunately will not be able to watch the New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders game on Sunday at 1 p.m. game and here's why.
Although FOX usually carries New York Giants games for the tri-state area, CBS will be the provider for this week's matchup. But, because the New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills game is also a CBS game, that will be the one that is being carried on that station at 1 p.m.
FOX61 will be broadcasting the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams game at 4 p.m. so viewers can look forward to that.
The reason for the confusion is that starting in 2023, CBS and FOX no longer have an agreement to separately air AFC and NFC games. Historically NFC games were on FOX and AFC games on CBS but that's not the case anymore. That's why this week even though the Giants and Commanders are NFC teams, it will still be on CBS.
We hope that this helps viewers understand why the Giants game will not be televised on your local cable station.
