NEW YORK — For those expecting to watch the New York Giants vs. the New York Jets battle it out at MetLife on Sunday at 1 p.m., unfortunately, FOX61 will not be showing that matchup, and here's why.
The Giants-Jets game is being covered by CBS. Because of this, we cannot televise the game. If you live in Connecticut, CBS will be showing the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins at that same time.
FOX61 will however be televising the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams game instead at 1 p.m. So there is still a game to look forward to.
The reason for the confusion is that starting in 2023, CBS and FOX no longer have an agreement to separately air AFC and NFC games. Historically NFC games were on FOX and AFC games on CBS but that's not the case anymore.
We hope that this helps viewers understand why the Giants and Jets game will not be televised on your local cable station.
