MADISON — A Madison teacher charged with sexually assaulting a minor appeared in New Haven court Tuesday. Allison Marchese, 37, pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and risk of injury or impairing the morals of a minor.

Madison Police say the investigation into Marchese began in January after a student made a report to the high school principal. Police quickly got involved and began interviewing people and gathering evidence.

She was under investigation for more than a month before she turned herself into Madison Police on Feb. 12. She was released after she posted a $100,000 bond.

Police say the minor is a male victim, at least 16-years-old and attends the same high school where Marchese worked, Daniel Hand High School in Madison.

Fox CT also learned Marchese’s husband was a teacher at the same school as well and they have two children.

Court records say she struck up relationships with two teens. The arrest warrant affidavit says a 17-year-old student told police he received a selfie of Marchese scantily dressed. The affidavit says Marchese said she sent the photo to her husband.

The affidavit also says a 15-year-old student told police Marchese wrote that she could not concentrate during class because he was so attractive.

The younger teen said Marchese messaged him “nonstop” the first week of summer vacation, including long messages expressing her feelings and trying to make him feel badly for not responding.

The English teacher is on paid leave.
