STORRS – A UConn women’s soccer player is in trouble after making an obscene gesture to a camera following their win in Sunday’s AAC championship game.
Freshman Norian Radwan has been suspended after showing her middle finger to an ESPN-U camera while celebrating with teammates after the Huskies beat University of South Forida 3 to 2 in penalty kicks.
UConn’s coach, Len Tsantris, issued a statement apologizing to the conference, USF, and those watching the game. He said the gesture showed “poor judgement and sportsmanship.”
Radwan — who didn’t play in the game — has been suspended indefinitely from team activities and will not play in the NCAA tournament.
