MANCHESTER, Conn. — The Little Manchester Road Race is making a return the weekend before Thanksgiving to let kids to put the "fun" in "fun run." Registration will begin on Oct. 1.
The annual Little Manchester Road Race takes place at Manchester High School and will be on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m.
It's free to enter, but participants are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food items to benefit the M.A.C.C. Emergency Food Pantry.
More information and registration, starting Oct. 1, can be found on manchesterroadrace.com. The Little MRR is limiting capacity to 1,000 runners.
There will also be a vehicle display, a skydiving exhibition, music, and opportunities to meet costumed characters.
The weekend event leads up to the 88th Manchester Road Race, happening Nov. 28, on Thanksgiving Day. Registration opened earlier this month, and around 1,900 people are registered to run, according to the website's participants widget. As many as 11,000 runners - from novice to elite - have flocked to Manchester to run in the annual race.
