Manchester Road Race entries exceed 11,000 runners ahead of race day

This year's attendance is over 1,400 more runners than last year.

MANCHESTER, Conn — Over 11,000 runners have officially signed up for this year's Manchester Road Race (MRR), officials announced Wednesday morning.

Registrations for the 4.748-mile Thanksgiving run closed just before midnight Tuesday. Officials said no post entries will be accepted on race day.

This year's attendance is over 1,400 more runners than last year. Officials said this year's field is the largest for the race since 2018, where 12,425 runners registered to run and over 8,200 finished the course. The 2018 was like running in Antarctica, with temperatures dropping to 14 degrees at race time.

Among the 11,060 official registered entrants this year are defending champions Conner Mantz and Weini Kelati. Mantz won last year's men's championship with a record time of 21:04 and Kelati won the women's championship for the last two years, setting a women's course record of 22:55 in 2021.
