STORRS, Conn. — The great outdoors awaits Connecticut families on Father’s Day, as The Adventure Park at Storrs is promoting its “Dads Climb Free” initiative, according to a release from the business.
The Adventure Park in Storrs, located on Storrs Road near the University of Connecticut, offers one of the best zipline and climbing adventure experiences in the region and is also offering a deal to make Father’s Day special.
Guests can buy one three-hour ticket and get a free ticket for their dad to climb as well, according to the release.
“What a fantastic way for dads to spend time with their families,” Park Manager Jesse Pasacreta said, in the release. “Sharing an adventure is an amazing way to bond with your kids of all ages.”
There are two ways to get the Father’s Day offer. First, once can visit here and book the ticket type “Father’s Day BOGO.” To get the discount, add two tickets to the shopping cart, and the discount is applied at checkout.
One can also book by phone by calling 860-946-0606 and ask for the Father’s Day BOGO. Employees will help guests select their climb time based on availability and apply the discount, according to the release.
The adventure park is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Father’s Day, which is Sunday, June 16. The promotion is valid only on June 16 and not compatible with any other offers or events. There are no refunds available, but tickets can be exchanged for The Adventure Park Account Credit for the amount paid only, the release said.
The park’s summer schedule begins on Wednesday, June 12. From that point through Aug. 25, the park will be open Wednesday through Sunday.
The nine trails at the park consist of a variety of challenges in the trees, including bridges, tightropes, ladders and 28 ziplines, according to the release, which said participants wear harnesses with clips that connect to the trail’s safety system to ensure that they are always locked on to the course until they reach the end.
According to the release, the main trails are designed for ages seven to adult, and an Adventure Playground offers low-to-the-ground adventure experience for little climbers ages three to six. Additionally, the release said the park offers three lanes of outdoor axe throwing and is the area’s only axe throwing venue.
Non-climbing participants are admitted free of charge to enjoy the experience on the ground and take in the property’s nature trails, picnic tales and community firepit, the release said.
