WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Police are on scene investigating after a 2-car crash closed a portion of Albany Avenue in West Hartford Wednesday afternoon.
West Hartford police responded around 1 p.m. to multiple calls reporting a crash with injuries. Officers located two vehicles and four patients.
One vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment about 500 feet into the woods, according to a release.
All four patients sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Officials believe one of the drivers involved may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash. However, the accident cause remains under investigation.
Albany Ave. is currently closed between Mountain Road and the Avon town line for utility pole repairs and for accident reconstruction purposes.
Drivers should expect delays or seek alternate routes for the next few hours.
