MERIDEN, Conn. — State police said a woman is dead after she was struck by an unknown vehicle Wednesday night.
Police said they were called to I-691 westbound around 10:35 p.m. between exits 8 and 9 on the report of a person lying in the roadway.
When they got to the scene, they found an unresponsive woman between the exit 8 exit and entrance ramps. She was later pronounced dead.
Police have not been able to identify the woman at this time.
According to police, it appeared that the woman was struck by an unknown vehicle.
