VERNON, Conn. — One person died after a rollover collision in Vernon closed Exit 67 on Interstate-84 Westbound over the weekend.
State Police said that at 5:48 p.m. Saturday, Troop C received a report of a rollover collision on I-84 Westbound between Exit 67 and Exit 66 in Vernon. EMS and the local fire department were also dispatched to the scene.
A Nissan Altima with a Georgia license plate was in the left lane when it sideswiped a Honda RGL with a New York license plate in the center lane. The Nissan then struck the median and rolled over.
The Nissan driver, identified as Alejandro Jose Defran Marte, 27, died of his injuries.
State Police asked drivers in the area to seek alternate routes and plan for traffic delays. The scene has since been cleared.
