Watch: State Trooper and truck driver narrowly avoid being crushed after large pipes fly off truck bed

The incident happened on I-95 in Stonington Wednesday morning. Luckily no one was injured. Each pipe weighs 1,500 lbs.

CONNECTICUT, USA — Early on Wednesday morning, a state trooper and truck driver saw something reminiscent of a movie.

While the state trooper was stopped at a crash on I-95 in Stonington, an oncoming truck slammed on its brake. The truck was carrying nearly two dozen 43' steel pipes used for gas lines. The pipes weigh 1,500lbs.

The sudden stop caused two of the pipes to slide forward over the cab of the truck and onto the road. The front of the cab was crushed due to the force and weight of the pipe.

One can see from the video how close one of the metal pipes comes to hitting the officer's car.

Luckily, no one was injured during the incident. State Police posted the whole incident on Facebook, reminding people to secure your vehicle's load while driving.
