SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. — It is the signature dance of the season.
On St. Patrick’s Day, FOX61’s Keith McGilvery and Margaux Farrell headed to south Windsor to give Irish Step Dancing a try!
Talent fills the dance floor at the SRL Irish Dance Academy in South Windsor.
“I love how physically active it keeps you,” said Emily Messier, a student at SRL. “I really love the friendships I have made in this kind of dance, everybody gets really close.”
“I love the people, I am surrounded by somebody who has the same goals and aspirations as I do,” said Emma Magnani, another SRL dance student.
“When I was a kid, I loved that it was fast moving, action packed,” said Courtney Jay, owner of SRL. “I started as a ballet dancer, and coming from ballet to Irish dance is definitely quicker movement of the feet, exciting music, I like that and a lot of our kids do.”
Keith and Margaux gave it a try... watch the video about to find out how they did.
