WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — For people wanting to escape the cold this winter, there are two new direct flights from Bradley International Airport to Mexico and Puerto Rico.
The Connecticut Airport Authority announced Tuesday that Frontier Airlines will debut the non-stop flights to Cancun Mexico and San Juan, Puerto Rico starting in February 2022.
These two new flights join the airlines’ five other non-stop flights to Atlanta, Denver, Miami, Orlando and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
“We are delighted to offer our passengers more options to travel conveniently and affordably to Cancun and San Juan,” Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Connecticut Airport Authority, said in a statement. “Attracting new nonstop flights is a top priority and in the competitive route development market we thank Frontier Airlines for their continued partnership.”
Frontier Airlines first started operating at Bradley International Airport in 2018.
“The addition of these new flights builds on that growth and gives an exciting boost to our route network,” Dillon said.
Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial at Frontier Airlines, said they are “thrilled” to begin offering the new flights so that Hartford-area residents can enjoy “unforgettable vacations in winter 2022 and beyond.”

The service to Cancun International Airport will start on Feb. 17, 2022, and will operate seasonally, three times a week.
The service to San Juan Airport will start on Feb. 18, 2022, and will operate year-round, three times a week.
