WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — Hartford Healthcare and the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) announced Wednesday morning a partnership that would bring another testing location to Bradley International Airport.
Airports around the country are getting ready for a unique holiday season with COVID-19 cases on the rise. Travel is expected to be down about 65% over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
According to AAA, about 5 million Americans have decided not to travel this year but Airports still say they are ready to give travelers a safe travel experience.
“While holiday travel is not anticipated to reach the levels of prior years, we have strong safety precautions in place to ensure the continued wellbeing of our passengers and the airport community,” said Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E., Executive Director of the CAA. “Certainly, traveling through Bradley International Airport this holiday season will not be the same this year. We ask passengers to plan ahead as much as possible and prepare themselves for what will be a different type of journey.”
Moving forward passengers at Bradley can expect:
- a face-covering mandate
- Enhanced cleaning and safety measures like plexiglass shield barriers and social distancing.
- On-site COVID-19 testing
- Parking operations adjustments
- Dining and shopping amenities
Bradley also added a few tips for possible passengers like using a mobile boarding pass or consider traveling with carry-on luggage only.
