CONNECTICUT, USA — Just two days after enjoying record-breaking warm temperatures, Mother Nature reminded Connecticut residents that it is still winter.
The storm on Friday morning didn't dump a historical amount of snow, but travel in the morning hours was slick and slushy as sleet periodically mixes into the precipitation.
"As we patrol our areas, the highways, on and off-ramps, we just want people to know those on and off-ramps and bridges ice over a lot quicker than the regular highways," said Trooper Pedro Muñiz.
Some higher snow total amounts include 5.1 inches in East Windsor, 4 inches in New Britain, 4.5 inches in the Rockville section of Vernon, and 4 inches in Simsbury. Other areas in the state, like New Haven, saw close to 2 inches.

Interstate 91 south in Meriden was briefly closed while crews worked on a jackknifed tractor-trailer. It was not immediately known if there were any reported injuries.
Despite that, no other major traffic incidents were reported across Connecticut during the storm.
But in other states, the storm's impact was not the same story. Massachusetts State Police reported a jackknifed tractor-trailer on the Braga Bridge in Fall River, and a tractor-trailer rollover on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Auburn.
Ahead of the storm, Gov. Ned Lamont told nonessential state employees to stay home.
Eversource only reported a handful of outages and United Illuminating had the same.
Major airports across the region reported hundreds of outgoing flight cancellations, including more than 300 at Boston's Logan International Airport and more than 100 at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
The storm also canceled nearly every flight in and out of Bradley Airport.
The storm tapered off by noon, but a scattered, light, wintry mix is still possible up to this evening.
Temperatures tonight will fall to 12-20 degrees with temperatures over the weekend struggling to get out of the 30s.
