Former Hartford’s Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley is FOX61’s Chief Investigator.
Foley, who served on Hartford’s Police Department for more than 23 years, retired from law enforcement in May 2018. As the Chief of Detectives for the department, Foley oversaw all criminal investigations, from fraud to homicide, in the Investigative Services Bureau. He also served as the Hartford Police Department’s Public Information Officer, where he handled all communications related to the media and social media matters for the department.
He was hired as a patrolman in 1994, served as a beat cop in Hartford’s West End, a homicide detective, a crisis/hostage negotiated, commander of the HPD Marine Unit, Internal Affairs Division and the Major Crimes Division. He was named deputy chief in 2014.
Active in the community, Foley serves on several local boards including: The Greater Hartford Urban League, the Julio Lozada Foundation, Hartford Marathon Foundation and the Hartford Yard Goats Community Board.
NEW BRITAIN — The suspect in the New Britain domestic violence homicide last month, Benjamin Morales, has still not been captured. HARTFORD — Limebikes are leaving Hartford and many fans of the program are asking why. WETHERSFIELD — The suspect in a Louisville Kentucky armored car theft was captured when he tried to obtain an ID at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Wethersfield. The FBI says Mark Espinosa , 29, was wanted for his alleged involvement of stealing from an armored truck. Sources said Espinosa attempted to obtain an ID using forged documents at the DMV.
