    SHELTON — A 47-year-old man who a left a rehabilitation center on Lake Road late Tuesday was found alive, police said. Police, acting on a tip, found William Luciano at the Huntington Street Café at 90 Huntington St. He was taken to an area hospital.     NEW BRITAIN — A city police officer was seriously injured in a hit-and-run on Wilcox Street Sunday night, police said.   • I-84 In Tolland Reopened

    TOLLAND – State police shut down I-84 in both directions early Tuesday following a heavy snow squall that passed through the area. Traffic was stopped for about an hour on both I-84 eastbound and westbound in the area of Exits 67 and 68. The state Department of Transportation was called to the area to help clean the roadway and the highway has since reopened. State police said the extremely low temperatures on Tuesday are causing slippery conditions on the roads.

  • Tree Falls Across Route 72 In Plymouth

    PLYMOUTH — A tree fell across a portion of Route 72, snapping several utility poles and closing the road early Monday, police said. The road was closed between Bemis Street and East Plymouth Road for several hours but reopened shortly before 6 a.m. Police said several residents in the area lost power but a majority have had power restored. The tree came down near North Main Street.
