  • Southington man arrested, charged with possessing child pornography

    SOUTHINGTON — Police say they arrested a Southington man on an outstanding warrant on January 14th. The warrant reportedly charged 67-year-old Philip Graveline with possession of child pornography 2nd degree. Police said they received a tip which led to a search warrant. According to police, they found in excess of 300 images considered child pornography on his computer. Graveline was held on a pending $250,000 and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Court.

  • Crews battle early morning house fire in East Haddam, two taken to hospital

    EAST HADDAM — Multiple fire crews battled an early morning house fire in East Haddam Thursday. The call for the fire came in around 4 a.m. The house was located at Triangle Drive. Two people were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police identified them as mother and son and said that hoarding conditions inside the home helped to fuel the fire.   • Town of Orange Fire Marshal killed in Woodbridge crash

    WOODBRIDGE — The Woodbridge Police Department has identified the victim in Sunday’s fatal crash. Police say the crash happened just before 5 p.m. on Litchfield Turnpike (Route 69), south of Downs Road. The crash only involved one car, and police said it drove off the highway and struck a tree. Police have identified the victim as the Town of Orange Fire Marshal, 56-year-old Timothy Smith.
