This week doesn’t look great either.  While it may not rain the entire time, there is a chance for scattered showers and/or storms for Monday night-Wednesday, and Friday too! The clouds and showers will keep temperatures in check, staying near average. Hopefully we can kick this pattern away for the start of the Travelers Championship! […]

Today is another gorgeous day for us. Mostly sunny, as pressure still dominates our weather.  Highs similar to Saturday in the low 80s a bit cooler by the shoreline as a sea breeze develops. Some models are speeding up the approach of the rain into the state but for now the morning is dry, the […]

Get ready for a wet, chilly Mother’s Day weekend. If you have outdoor plans with Mom it’s time to start thinking about plan B! We are anticipating 1″-2″ of widespread rain but there could be higher amounts up to 3″ in some heavier rain bands. Today will start off cloudy with rain developing in the morning for areas west of the CT River. Locations east of I-91 will hang on to the drier weather a little longer with rain beginning […]

  • Occasional light snow, sleet and rain this morning, drying out this afternoon, sun returns Sunday

Our latest storm delivered a good 1″-1.5″ of much-needed precipitation since yesterday with an inch of sleet across northern areas. However, we escaped a major sleet and ice storm last night because a dry slot intruded into the area preventing major issues today. This storm is history with precipitation ending mid-day along with the possibility of a little sun peaking through the clouds this afternoon and evening. Temperatures then slowly warm up for Sunday and the beginning of next week before more rain moves back in by Tuesday.  […]

  • Scattered showers, chilly this weekend

Today and Sunday won’t be the most beautiful days by any means, as a stationary front sets up essentially right over us. Highs will be in the 40s with mostly cloudy skies and waves of showers. There will be a few scattered light showers this morning, with more numerous showers this afternoon/evening as a cold front moves through the area. Unsettled weather continues into Monday and Tuesday, but we should start to see some better weather by the middle/end of […]

  • Colder, with less wind expected for Sunday

After a tranquil autumn season with lots of sun and very little precipitation, get ready for an active weather pattern this first full week of December.  December is the start of meteorological winter and we will have several chances for some wintry precipitation this week. Your Sunday will feature more sunshine and a lighter wind than Saturday, so it will not feel as chilly as Saturday even though temperatures may be a few degrees cooler. The first system is an […]

It’ll be partly cloudy tonight with lows in the 30s. Sunday will be partly cloudy, breezy and cooler with highs in the 40s. After a sunny start to the work week on Monday, rain returns to the forecast Tuesday through Thursday of next week.  Several rounds of soaking rain are possible with a greater than 70% chance of over 1″. There is still some question on the exact timing of each way. But when precipitation first arrives on Tuesday there’s […]

  • Dry and seasonable this weekend; turn clocks back 1-hour tonight

Sunday will be bright and breezy with winds out of the northwest at 10-20 mph. Temperatures will also be slightly cooler, in the low-mid 50s. It will turn milder next week, especially on Election Day when some of us will cast our ballots without a jacket on. Highs on Tuesday will climb into the 60s with fair skies. Our weather looks dry for the foreseeable future thanks to a big ridge of high pressure that will dominate most of the […]
