  • Pedestrian seriously injured after suspected drunk driver strikes her in Bristol

    BRISTOL — A woman suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a car on Thursday night  between Pine street and Emmett street  just after 10 p.m. Police said they were called to the area where they found 50-year-old Joyce Reagan-Walsh, of Bristol on the ground with serious head injuries.   Police said Walsh was hit by a car driven by 21-year-old, Marissa Rosner while she was walking on Pine Street.     MILFORD, Mass. –  A Quinnipiac University  student was killed after a car she was in crashed into a pole Sunday night. Jacqueline Gray, 19,  was transported to UMass Worcester Hospital where she passed away on Monday due to her injuries.  Gray was an undergraduate student majoring in psychology at Quinnipiac. She was a member of the Quinnipiac’s Ice Cats, who are hockey cheerleaders on skates. She had been named to  the dean’s list.   • Two teens arrested after crash involving stolen car in Vernon

    VERNON – Police said two teenage boys were arrested after a crash involving a stolen car early Wednesday. According to police, the suspects were arrested after driving the stolen car and hitting a guardrail on Windsor Avenue near the intersection of Union Street around 1:15 a.m. The car was totaled but the driver and passengers were not injured, police said.  Two teenage girls were also in the car but have not been charged.   • Police in East Lyme respond to 3 opioid overdoses in one week

    EAST LYME- In the last seven days, police in East Lyme have responded to three opioid related overdoses. Narcan, a medication that reverses the effects of opioids, was administered by emergency crews at two of the three incidents. The police are working to address the epidemic of opioid use and abuse in Connecticut. New Haven police confirmed Monday that 17 people in the city were poisoned by fentanyl, a synthetic opioid.     ENFIELD – A suspect is on the run after a police chase  in Enfield. The chase started after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign.   • Pedestrian struck, killed in Derby

    DERBY — Derby police reported a man was killed after being struck by a car Thursday night. The accident happened on Route 34 eastbound near Chapel Street in Derby shortly before midnight. Emergency crews were called to the scene and but the victim died on the way to Yale-New Haven Hospital.  Police identified the victim as a 57 year-old man, but his name has not yet been released.   • South Windsor police arrest suspect in theft of iPhones worth $12,000 from Apple store

    SOUTH WINDSOR – South Windsor Police arrested a Massachusetts man in connection with the theft of $12,000 of iPhones from the Apple Store and he may be tied to cases in other states. Ralehk Martin, 19, of Dedham, Massachusetts, was arrested June 6 for February incident in which several suspects stole 20 cell phones from an Apple Store at Evergreen Walk.
