  • Firefighters respond to a house fire in Oxford

    OXFORD-Firefighters were called to a working house fire at 586 Oxford Road early Friday morning. The call came in around 2 a.m. Multiple departments from surrounding towns were requested for mutual aid. The fire was under control by 3 a.m. It’s unclear if the family was inside at the time. State Police have a portion of Oxford Road blocked off. Check back for updates on this story.

  • Man and woman killed in Hartford’s South End identified

    HARTFORD — Police have identified the victims of  a Monday night shooting in the city’s south end. Police responded to the area of Campfield Avenue and Cowles Street around 10:30  p.m. Monday night. Officials said they found Joshua Cortez, 22, of Hartford, lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting. Deputy Chief Brian Foley said the deaths were likely due to domestic relationship issues escalating between several people.     HARTFORD- Firefighters responded to a large house fire on Magnolia Street Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called to the scene around 2 a.m. Large flames were seen a great distance away from the house and part of the house collapsed.     HARTFORD–Firefighters responded to fire at a business on Barbour Street and Judson Street early Wednesday morning.     NEW HAVEN-Police are investigating a deadly shooting overnight on Clinton Avenue. Police have identified the victim as Jonathan Aranda, 19, of New Haven.
